"Edinburgh Train is part of a series entitled “Gold Notes.”
Embedded in the image are photographs and various emblems that speak to solitude and escape. I photographed this scene in Edinburgh’s train station while traveling alone through Scotland, France and Germany. My artistic work has led me to a few of these experiences – traveling solo through a foreign place. I do so because, much like the act of being an artist, I am in love with the feeling of spontaneity and self-realization that comes with moving through unfamiliar places. Edinburgh Train eloquently captures my feeling of solitude in a grand, rhythmic setting. Everything is happening and yet there is a sense of stillness, expectancy and beauty.
